Hi I'm Kate

I was born in Nashville, Tennessee but I believe Texas is heaven on earth. I love country music. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I went to high school in Texas where i learned that there are many different ways to worship and appreciate God. There are so many great things about living in the "bible-belt." Sunday mornings were my favorite because everyone was on their way to some kind of church meeting. After high school, i moved up to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham Young University. I am currently studying to be a nurse and working as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Why I am a Mormon

Its simple. I am a Mormon because I want to live my life the way that God has planned for me to live my life! If God had prophets in Moses' day, why would He not give us prophets to lead and guide us today? God doesn't love us any less than the people who lived in Old Testament times! I am Mormon because we have a living prophet (President Thomas Monson) who receives direct revelation from God to give to us. If Christ walked with the people in Jerusalem and the middle-east, why would He not walk with the people in the Americas? The New Testament is a record of the people in eastern countries and The Book Of Mormon is a record of Christ's ministering to the people of the Americas. Christ loves all of us equally. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches that we are loved. God is always waiting for you to come unto Him. I am a Mormon because I can feel of God's undying love for me as I walk in the path He has created for me.

How I live my faith

At church I teach a sunday school class. I love staying up late saturday night and preparing my lesson for the next day. My favorite part about teaching is that I always learn more from the people sitting in my class then what i actually taught them! Sometimes, I help out in the nursery class which takes care of the youngest children at church. Children definitely have a beautiful spirit about them. Most recently, I was asked to move to Honduras to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people there. Though I am young and I have a lot of school to finish still, I am excited for this opportunity ahead of me. I know that there is someone in Honduras who needs to hear the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ and I cannot wait to share it with them!

What do Mormons believe about family?

I am Mormon because I love that we know we can be with the ones we love forever. I can be with my family forever. That means that not even death can separate me from my family. Sure, i might not see them until I die too, but I know that i will be able to see them again. Another interesting thing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that we do not believe that children who die without being baptized are damned. Many religions baptize their babies when they are only a few months old but the Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches that children are perfect and without sin. Children become accountable and able to sin only when they have reached age 8. This is when they are able to be baptized and promise with God that they will always remember Him, keep His commandments, and take upon them His name. That means that the child that you lost before you could have him baptized is not forever lost. You will see him again. He is yours forever if you'll let the Gospel of Jesus Christ bless your life. Ordinances (a outward performance of an inward commitment) that are performed in the temple can seal your family together for all of eternity. Families are forever through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
