Hi I'm Kaitlin

I am a middle school choir teacher in Las Vegas, NV. I love to travel and sing along the way! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up singing in choirs from the time I was a child and I have known that I wanted to be a choir teacher from the time I was in middle school. I got my degree in choral music education at Northern Arizona University and am now loving teaching choir to 250+ middle school students. I love to travel and I have been to South Africa, London, Japan, Vancouver and all over the United States. I just had my first experience couch surfing and loved it! I love the great outdoors and any chance I get to be outside I am.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into an LDS family, it was still important for me to find out for myself if the teachings of the church were true. I have attended church services of several religions with close friends and while many of the teachings were similar to what I was taught, there was something missing. I decided to read the Book of Mormon for myself and pray to see if it was true. The manifestation of truth did not come as one overwhelming feeling, but rather it was just how good I felt each time I read it. Throughout my life I have felt the spirit of the Holy Ghost touch my heart, and it is usually through music. I love the hymns of the church. They are traditional and some people find them boring, but I love the depth of the text and the harmonies. I know that Heavenly Father is real and that he loves me not only through prayer, but also through beauty found in nature, amazing music, and good people who show love to others. I know that His son Jesus Christ died on the cross to atone for our sins and that through baptism and repentance, we can make it back to live with Him again. I have a testimony that we do have a living prophet on the earth today who provides is with revelation. I am grateful for this gospel in my life and I can't imagine life without it.

How I live my faith

I love being a member of the church. It is a great place to come and learn more about Christ. I serve as the music coordinator in my ward so I organize special musical numbers and I also play the organ. The thing I love most about the church is that there is something for everyone and there is always someone who you can relate to and befriend.
