Hi I'm Frederick

I grew up in the city of Detroit. I like to serve the community, play basketball, and watch anime. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to watch anime. The first few anime's i've seen are Dragonball z, Gundam Wing, and Trigun. Then it just branched out. I also enjoy hanging with my friends and playing yugioh. We go to tournaments and play video games. I play basketball too. I really enjoy it. I love to do origami too. I started in the 4th grade and have loved it ever since. I can make roses and tulips and all sorts of cool stuff. I enjoy volunteering to help those in need. I was V.P. of the Rotaract club my freshman year in college. I also volunteer at hospitals and with organizations such as habitat for humanity. I have 5 siblings and I am second to youngest. I'm the first person to serve a mission in the family. My immediate family are the only members of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents grew up baptist. They met the missionaries and joined the church when i was 4 years old. As I grew up in the church I just felt that it was true. It just felt right, but at the same time i didn't know much about other churches. I got a spiritual witness of the book of Mormon in high school. I personally love the scriptures and when I served my mission I had ample opportunities to study them. Doctrine wise I have learned why we believe what we believe and how the bible and the book of Mormon go together. I had to receive my spiritual witness first before my doctrinal witness though. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this church is true. I know that the book of Mormon is true. I have come across many people who tell me that the church is racist or that we don't believe in Christ or that we are brainwashed. It's not true. You must go to church yourself and see for yourself the validity of the church. As a missionary in Washington D.C. I was asked about blacks in the church many times. The church is not racist there are tons of black members. This church is the true church. Remember though God will answer all of your questions through people, scriptures, and prayer. The answers come only if you have sincere humility and faith though. I know that I would never ever ever ever be as happy of a person as I am today if I weren't a member of this church. I could be rich, famous, or a genius but I would not be as happy. I love the teachings of the church. No other church talks of eternal marriage or where you go after you die, before you go to heaven. If your reading this go to mormon.org and look up the plan of salvation. I hope that if you were on the fence about joining or not that this helps. Being in the church is not easy. It's hard, and requires sacrifice, but it's worth it. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others and showing them love. I go to church weekly and read my scriptures and say my prayers. Outside of that I help out at home. Money is tight and my mom is sick. I help out with gas and I help mom by taking her to the doctor, cooking, and cleaning. I don't really know what else to say. I just try to live my life as the savior lived his. If someone needs a ride, if I can do it I do it. If someone needs gas money If I have it I'll give it. If the bishop needs me to visit someone who needs help, I will do it.
