Hi I'm Russell

I'm a teacher, a lawyer and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm married with five children - having a big family is something I had always wanted and despite the challenges I wouldn't want to be without any of the children! Outside of family, work and church I love football, running and cycling (though I don't get much time to enjoy these things!) For the first few years of my working life I taught French in high school in the UK. There is something amazing about working with young people and watching them learn and grow. Now, I'm a lawyer involved in cases of all types as well as running my own firm.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teenager I would often ask myself if God lives and loves me. As I continued to grow I tried hard to follow the example of Jesus Christ in order to experiment whether or not I wanted to continue to live my life as a Christian. As I have done this I cannot recall how many times following Jesus' example led me to have a happier and more fulfilled life. I know that God lives and loves me, and that life has a purpose.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is a lifestyle, not just attending church on Sunday. It is the lifestyle of being a Christian. Each morning I wake up with the desire to be better than the day before. How can I be more patient with my children today? How can I show more love and appreciation to my wife today? What opportunities will I have to help somebody today? I live my faith through regularly attending Sunday worship and other meetings, serving my family and others around me, and trying to spread the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely! Mormons count it an honour to be disciples (followers) of Jesus Christ. His teachings are contained largely in the bible with well known things such as "do unto other as you would have them do unto you". As pupils follow their teachers, and children their parents, Mormons follow Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
