Hi I'm Alex Hauter

I'm a young adult convert to the Church. I want to make the world a happier place. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have the best family!!! My dad is Caucasian American and my mom is Korean. I have an older brother and older sister. I was introduced to the church by a friend during my senior year of high school. I waited until I turned 18 to be baptized. FSU is my alma mater! (Go Noles) I love being around and getting to know people. I love sports and I love the outdoors. I love music! And I love animals, especially dogs.

Why I am a Mormon

I know we have a Heavenly Father who lives and loves each of us with a love that is greater than we can understand. I believe life on earth is part of a plan He designed to make it possible for us to live with Him after we die. I believe in Jesus Christ, that He is the only begotten son of our Heavenly Father and that He is the way we are to attain eternal life. I have read the Book of Mormon and through prayer I've asked God to guide me to the truth. He does this for me every day! I believe that this church is the same church that Jesus Christ set up on the earth during his earthly ministry and that it was restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, brings me closer to Jesus Christ and to Heavenly Father than any other.

How I live my faith

I try to see everything as a blessing! I go to church every Sunday. I pray to Heavenly Father and study the scriptures often. I try to ask myself "What would Jesus do?" and then do that, when I have decisions to make. I try to be obedient to all the commandments. I repent when I make mistakes and use the Atonement to become better! I try to put others before myself. Living this way makes for an incredibly joyful life. I strongly suggest it. :)

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Alex Hauter
The Book of Mormon is different from the Bible because it is a collection of records that were written by groups of people who lived on the American continent. It was first translated into English, from its original form, by the power of God through the prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was led to find the golden plates, upon which the records were written, and to perform this translation by an angel named Moroni in the late 1820s. The Book of Mormon contains many stories and has much to teach its readers, but its central purpose is to testify of the reality and divinity of Jesus Christ. Because of it, I know that Jesus Christ is real, that He is our Savior and that He knows and loves each of us personally. Show more Show less
