Hi I'm Genesis

I'm from Venezuela. I go to BYU-I. I love my family. I'm grateful for awesome friends, basketball, & delicious food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey! I am Genesis. I was born in Venezuela, a land I hold dear in my heart. I moved to Florida at a young age and learned to love most everything about it. I am currently a student at Brigham Young University - Idaho and I simply love it! My major is Mechanical Engineering, the deeper I get into my field the more passionate I become about it. I spend hours trying to understand new concepts better and constantly search for their real life application. When I am not in school I like to use my spare time reading a variety of books. I find Spanish literature to be extremely enjoyable. I like to experiment with new recipes in the kitchen. If inspiration strikes me I will write or draw. I treasure attending art events. Skillful dance performances, as well as beautifully composed musical pieces, have a particular way of touching my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

At the age of six, two young men came to my doorstep dressed in suits and carrying blue books. This turned out to be a life changing event in my life. I was taught by the missionaries and read the children version of the Book of Mormon. I absolutely knew I wanted to be baptized and be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have attended church since. I have prayed to my Father in Heaven and received personal revelation that it is true. I know this because of the peace it brings to my heart. I know this gospel is true because I have put its teachings to practice and it has only blessed my life; so exceedingly that at times it seems hard to contain all the gratitude I feel.

How I live my faith

There are many days in which I wake up feeling deep gratitude and awe at the blessing that it is to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I often pray to my Father in Heaven with the single purpose of giving thanks. Through the years I have had the opportunity to serve within the Latter-Day Saint organization in various ways. I enjoy knowing that I am being an instrument in the hands of the Lord to help build His kingdom. My hope from day to day is to get to the point where I can truly see and love others the way our Father in Heaven does.
