Hi I'm Theodore Medling

I grew up in Southern California. I love serving my community, the outdoors, sports, and being Mormon.

About Me

I am serving the Lord as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Chile Osorno Misison. Prior to leaving for my mission I attended Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles for two years majoring in biochemistry. After completing my mission I plan to continue my education and enter medical school. I have always been interested in healthcare and in helping others. I enjoy participating in community service and making a difference in other people’s lives. In my free time, I love being active in the outdoors, working out, swimming at the beach, hiking, camping, and playing just about any sport. Watching sports is another favorite pastime; I am a proud supporter of the Angels baseball team. I also find fulfillment when faced with difficult tasks that force me to do my best and result in me growing into a better person. The challenges we face give us a wonderful opportunity to better ourselves.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the gospel is true. It is such a blessing to have it in my life; it is always there to help direct and guide me when I am struggling to make a decision. Being a member of the church has given me an indescribable amount of peace and joy. I know that God is our Father in Heaven and that He knows each one of us on a personal basis. I testify that He lives and that He sent Jesus Christ, His perfect son, our savior and redeemer, to Earth to atone and die for our sins so that we can, one day, rejoin our Father in Heaven. Although while on Earth we face many difficult times and challenges, which test us and help us improve on ourselves, it is for our benefit as we become better and more appreciative Children of God. I know that the time spent on Earth is used to improve ourselves such that we can return to His presence. Heavenly Father has blessed us with all of the tools necessary to return to Him: a latter-day prophet in Joseph Smith who, through His blessing, translated ancient text into the Book of Mormon so we can learn more teachings of Jesus Christ. God constantly provides us with help through President Monson, his counselors, the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and localized leadership. He has not left us to survive on our own in this world but is there to provide prompting and revelations when we need direction. Each one of us has a purpose in life that is within our grasp. Our Heavenly Father would not give us a challenge too great for the physical and spiritual talents that he has bestowed upon us. This gospel is true and provides such clarity in my life. It is most precious to my heart. It brings complete joy to all those who come to discover its truth. I am so grateful for our Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation, the atonement, and restored gospel. I pray that all who search for its truth will find it as completely as I have so that they too may be blessed with utter serenity and joy.

How I live my faith

I study the scriptures, pray, and strive to be more like Jesus Christ each and every day. My relationship with Our Heavenly Father guides me and is the foundation and focus of my testimony. I have a deep commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ and to the commandments given to us through him. I want to share my knowledge and spread the joy that comes with knowing the gospel is true.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Theodore Medling
Jesus Christ is an influence in all of our lives, as a Christian we believe in following our Savior in all ways such that we can come closer to Him and feel His presence more frequently in our lives. Through this faith that we have in Him we are drawn to act and treat others in a way that He would do so, we earnestly seek to love all people as they too are children of God. As we demonstrate this faith in Him we are able to experience a greater joy and happiness in our lives Show more Show less
