Hi I'm Brenda

I grew up in a small town in Idaho. I have 3 sisters and 3 brothers. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the most amazing man in the world and a mother to 5 children and a grandmother to 6 beautiful grandchildren. I love to sew, read, tend and play with my grandchildren and cut out wood crafts. I remember growing up living close to my grandparents and would go over daily to visit them. My grandfather had a wood shop that I loved to be in. I would watch him cut out wood and remember how amazing fresh cut wood smelled. When I cut out wood in my own garage, it reminds me of him. I love my family. Family means everything. I teach children how to read in an elementary setting. It is such an amazing feeling that I can make a difference in this world. I started babysitting early on in my life and this enhanced my love for children. I attended college studying early childhood education.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon! I love everything that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has to offer. I believe that I am a better person because I believe in God the Eternal Father and His son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. I know that this is the only true Church. I love being married to my best friend and knowing that I am married to him for Eternity makes me want to strive harder to be a better person. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know that it is true. I have prayed about it and know without a shadow of doubt that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. He did restore the gospel upon this earth so that we could know that there is a Heavenly Father who loves us and that Jesus Christ lives. We have a prophet here upon the earth today President Monson. I know that he loves us and keeps us from harm. He will never lead us astray. We need to follow his counsel. President Monson counsels us to be tolerant of other people and to be kind and provide service. He is always telling us that we are good people. We have General Conference twice a year where we can hear the counsel of our prophet, his counselors and Apostles. I can't seem to get enough. I love what they counsel and tell us to help make us better people. They testify that this church is true and that we can live with Heavenly Father after we die if we keep the commandments etc. This church means everything to me. I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who sent His Son to die for us. He is perfect. He atoned for our sins. I am learning everyday how important this church is. I hope that I can make a difference in this world. I hope that I can be a good example. This world is so beautiful and I am so grateful that I can thank my Heavenly Father everyday for what he has done for me.

How I live my faith

I love volunteering for my community that I live in. Every year I call the youth in our community to see if they will be "pooper scoopers" and "banner carriers" for our little town parade! What a riot this is! When I tell them that they get to scoop poop from the horses that are in the parade, I either get an enthusiastic "yes!" Or lots of giggles and "NO WAY!" I am a leader in my church over the youth. Every Sunday we teach from the scriptures and help our youth to learn more about Jesus and what he did for us here upon the earth. I love teaching our youth. They are at the age where they love to learn and they want to be good and they want to be more like Jesus. Our youth are our future. I have such faith in our youth to be righteous leaders when they are older and to be an example to others. I also visit women in our town to see how they are doing and help them out if they need me. I try to provide service as much as needed. For the last several years we have stopped to pick up and take a lady to church that otherwise might not be able to get there. She is so sweet and we have the best visits. She knows my children and she is a great example of endurance to them.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

We have a prophet on the earth today. Thomas S. Monson is our Prophet. We are happier if we listen and do what he tells us. Show more Show less
