Hi I'm Anna

I grew up in Seattle, the oldest of 4 kids and favorite of great parents. I am currently serving as a missionary on Temple Square.

About Me

I grew up in Sammamish, WA, a suburb of Seattle. As the oldest of four, I learn so much from the example of my two younger brothers and younger sister. I was raised by two loving parents to appreciate reading, writing, and learning, and have continued to do so over the past three years while studying English literature and economics at Brigham Young University in Utah. I was fortunate enough to spend a semester of my time at BYU on a study abroad to Paris, France, where I developed a love for the French language, food, people, and culture. I enjoy creating relationships with new friends and learning more about the beautiful world that I'm a part of. I am currently serving as a missionary for the church at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, UT.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the teachings of the LDS church. I believe that being a member of this church leads me down the best path to find happiness during my life on earth and throughout eternity. I know for certain that the times in my life when I have experienced the most joy have occurred when I have kept my life in line with the principles of the gospel. I know that my Heavenly Father speaks to me through His prophets and the books of scripture that they have recorded. I know that He speaks to me through sacred revelation. I know that I can speak to him through personal prayers. I am a Mormon because the gospel that I follow gives my life purpose and meaning.

How I live my faith

I strive to make my religion a part of my everyday life. I have found that I am most happy when I am incorporating the principles of a gospel that I know to be true into the way I treat others and the personal choices I make. I begin each day by thanking my Heavenly Father for the blessings He has provided me, and asking Him to help me find opportunities to serve His other children. I try to consistently study the doctrines of the Book of Mormon, other books of scripture, or the words of living prophets and leaders on the earth today, because I believe that it is through these words that I better understand my purpose in life. Throughout the week I find time to learn more about the gospel and my Savior through classes, church meetings, and discussions with friends and family. I try to live a life that is consistent with my beliefs so that I can also worship in the temple several times each month.
