Hi I'm Brooke

I am a History Teacher, I love working with kids, and being active outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Spokane, Washington where I was born and raised as the oldest of six girls. I loved growing up in a beautiful city in the west with my family. My family means the world to me. After high school I moved from home to attend college, where I have been the past five years. I just graduated from college with a double major in Humanities and History Teaching from BYU. I just received employment as an 8th grade U.S. History Teacher and I could not be more thrilled. I love working with young teens. I love learning and sharing my love for learning. I am a newlywed and my husband and I love to be active and be involved in the area we are living from visiting museums to taking a hike in the mountains, we love it all. We especially love being in the sun and on a lake waterskiing and wake boarding. In my free time I love to read, my favorite book is "A Tale of Two Cities".

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. I have a relationship with my Heavenly Father that I have gained through prayer and experience. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel in this dispensation, the same church that Jesus Christ established when he was on the earth. Thomas S. Monson is our modern day prophet and leads and guides the church today through modern revelation. I know Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and yours and that if we believe and do the best that we can in this earth life and keep our covenants and promises we will be able to live with God again, with our families. I have such hope for a wonderful life to come. I have had the opportunity to study in Jerusalem and be where the Savior walked and lived when he was on the earth. I know he still lives and I love him and the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in my daily activities. I enjoy being around people and serving and helping others. I recently had the opportunity to help a young lady that is around my age and was just preparing to have her first child. I was able to take her to doctor appointments and be available to her and be a listening ear. I feel happy when I am able to serve God's children and sometimes that is just being a listening ear, or a car ride. A smile can go a long way, because of my faith I have reason to be happy and optimistic. My calling in the ward is to be a ward missionary, I get to go out with the missionaries and share the gospel, and help provide meals or rides for the missionaries. My sister is serving a mission right now in another part of the states and I don't get to see her and so it is a blessing that I get to serve and aid the missionaries in my area right now.
