Hi I'm Brenden Whittacre

I was born and raised in Henderson, Nevada. I'm going to school to be a commercial airline pilot. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been born and raised in the church. My family is fairly small. It is just mom, dad, my little brother, and me. I have a couple of hobbies. First, my family owns a wake boarding boat. We generally end up every week out at Lake Mead to do some wake boarding or some skiing. My next hobby is my more favorite of the three main ones. I love playing the guitar. I have only been playing for about 4 years and I am self taught. Every once and a while I will sit down and learn a hymn. I feel that music is one of the best ways for someone to feel the spirit, and I enjoy taking advantage of that. Another smaller hobby that I have is flying airplanes. Ever since I was a little child I have dreamed about having an occupation in aviation. That is what I am currently going to college for. I am going to CSN (College of Southern Nevada) right now. When I return from my mission to Mexico City, I am going to go up to Utah and finish my degree at UVU (Utah Valley University).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I have had the church in my life the whole time. There was a time a while ago where I just wasn't taking advantage of everything it has to offer me. I was pretty much a slacker. When the big news came out that missionaries had the opportunity to leave an extra year early I was terrified. I didn't know what to do. I have always known that I needed to go on a mission but I haven't really thought to much about it. I decided right then or there that I either was going to go or not. In the end I chose the right decision, to go. The more and more I have had to prepare to go I have had an increase in my testimony. It is a lot stronger now then what it was. I now can say that I know that Jesus died for me. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that he truly restored the gospel to the earth. I know that we have a living prophet today, like the olden days in the Bible. Most importantly, I know that this church is a true church, and that it truly is gods church.

How I live my faith

I enjoy spending as much time at church as I possibly can. I love to help others. Right now I am considered a youth. As a youth there isn't much I can do. The one thing that I absolutely love doing though, is going out with the missionaries. I love hearing there stories about people embracing the gospel.
