Hi I'm Kayla Swenson

I love to hike. I have five little sisters. I'm a journalism student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and in the midst of the most exciting time of my life. I just finished a year at Utah State University where I began my Journalism major. I hope to someday become a reporter or a news anchor. Who knows maybe I'll be the next Oprah! :) Even with all this excitement I have decided to take a break from it all and serve the people of Barcelona, Spain. Besides going on a mission and getting a college education, I hope to someday get married in the temple. I know that in the next five years a lot will change, but one thing that will never change is my love for the Savior and my testimony of its truthfulness.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the happiness this church brings. One of the most comforting doctrines of this gospel is that families can be together forever. I really love my family and can't imagine a life without them. This past year my Grandma Lola passed away. She was very close to me. Although her death was hard for my family and I, we felt the peace that comes from the knowledge that we will be with her again someday. I have a testimony of this gospel. I know it is true. I can feel it when I read the Book of Mormon, I can feel it when I watch my sisters and cousins get baptized, I can feel it when I get on my knees and pray each morning and night. I know that through obedience my testimony of this gospel can grow even stronger. I love this church, I love my Savior and I hope to always be able to testify of His true gospel.

How I live my faith

Right now I am called as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Although I am only nineteen and hardly a gospel scholar, I feel blessed to have the responsibility to share the gospel with the world. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.
