Hi I'm Brooklyn Broadhead

I grew up in Magrath Alberta. I lifeguard, play sports, and do photography. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town with 75% of the population as members of the church. I come from a family of 10 and I love it! I moved away from home to go to school to become a teacher in a large city that is 20 times bigger than my home town. I play volleyball and many other sports on my spare time with the YSA and I do photography. I am not professional but I would like to do it for a living. I love music and especially singing and I am in my ward choir. I currently work at a pool lifeguarding until I leave for my mission. I love to hike in the mountains of southern Alberta and to do many outdoor activities. I learned to cook from my mother and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church but I had to learn for myself. When I was about 12 I started to attend young women's and studying the Book of Mormon. My leaders helped me to understand principles that would effect my life. I noticed my life changing and it felt peaceful. I wanted more out of it so I accepted my callings in the church and paid closer attention to the lessons. I noticed kids in my school class that weren't members and watched them as they lived their life and the many differences we had. Living in a community with mostly members of the church was a good influence on me and many of my friends had the same values and beliefs as I did. During family home evening one night we talked about patriarchal blessings and my parents shared theirs with us. It was a wonderful experience and I wanted to receive one myself. I was about 15 at the time and this was when I started to attend seminary regularly. The spirit revealed some amazing revelation to me and I wanted to know more, feel more, and become more. I loved seminary and my teacher helped me understand the many principles and doctrines of the church. I noticed my life changing even more as I started to follow Christ and His example. I noticed some things in my life that I had to change if I wanted to come closer to my Father in Heaven and knowing the eternal perspective has helped me endure and push forward. The people in this church are wonderful, they help and serve one another with love and kindness. They are willing to bear their testimonies, help lift burdens and work together as a unified group to become a greater people. Gods people. Being obedient and trusting in the lord is huge when trying to figure out what you are going to do with your life because he knows us personally. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints gives me guidance and confidence. Every day is a struggle to do what is right, every day is a challenge, but it is easier when the Lord is on your side.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher in my ward for the women which gives me many opportunities to get to know the sisters in my ward. I visit and teach two wonderful women in my ward and I visit with them every month or more. My room-mates and I like to bake goods and drop them off at random individuals house's or our home teachers. I currently do family history every Sunday. I am about to serve a mission in Illinois Chicago.
