Hi I'm Logan Porter

I grew up in small farming community in southern Idaho. I love sports. I am an outdoor enthusiast. I'm a mormon

About Me

I grew up in small southern Idaho farm town. I am the third child of three, having an older sister and brother. Both of my siblings and I are best friends. I love being able to spend time with them as well as my parents. Being raised in the small farmland of Idaho has provided me many opportunities to learn and grow. I was able to work on farms ever since I was a little kid. I even had the opportunity to raise pigs and sell them for FFA and 4-H. These experiences made me realize that I love everything agriculture had to offer. Aside from the farm life I love participating in sports. In High school I ran track and cross country and also played basketball. I love physical challenges, and will almost never turn down the opportunity to go outside and engage in competitive sports. I also love being outdoors! I marvel at the beauty of God's creations and often get lost in aw. I enjoy camping, fishing, riding my dirt bike and hanging out with my friends. I am currently attending BYU-I where I am majoring in exercise physiology. I plan to graduate from BYU-I and then apply to the Utah State physical therapy program.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother has been a Mormon her whole life but my father has nothing to do with the Church. My faithful mother would take us to Church every Sunday. It was there that I was being taught about the stories in the scriptures and the history of the church. As I got older I started going through trials.(One of which was my anxiety) I felt as though God would not help me through these trials. I started to read the scriptures in hope to find comfort and maybe even a testimony to prove to myself that God loves me. When I finished I took Moroni's challenge and prayed. After many prayers I received my promised answer. I knew that Heavenly Father loved me and cared for me. I realized that God wanted me to help myself through these trials by reading the Book of Mormon. Since then I have learned through the scriptures how I can be comforted through Jesus Christ's Atonement.

How I live my faith

I was called to serve as a missionary in the California, Irvine Mission. I was very eager to serve the Lord, but when I got out into the field I started suffering from severe anxiety attacks. I returned home shortly after I left. At this time in my life I thought that things were going to start heading downhill. Little did I know, the exact opposite occurred. I found great comfort and more importantly a testimony in the Atonement of Jesus Christ. God truly cares about me, one of who knows how many of his children. The more I came to know this as a surety the more I felt that I needed to show others that they too are children of God. I still have a desire to serve the Lord on a full time mission, but until then I try and do the small things in helping others develop a testimony in our loving Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus, Christ.
