Hi I'm Kami

I'm grew up in Texas. I'm a Sociology student at BYU-I and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Texan through and through, although I avoid that Texas pride if I can. I'm waiting on a missionary but I'm going to be a missionary myself. I'm getting ready to serve in Arizona and I'm super excited! My hobbies include reading (both silently and out loud, I love reading to people), making videos on my computer, cleaning, talking, and exercising. I go to Brigham Young University-Idaho and I'm a Sociology major with a Criminology cluster. I want to be a CSI and no not the TV show fake stuff, the real deal. I LOVE horses! My dream is to have at least two one day. I like playing video games with friends and hanging out with people. I'm definitely an extrovert. Haha! I love talking to and meeting new people and I'm always up for making new friends!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for so many reasons I don't think I can pick just one reason, but I can summarize. I am a Mormon because I know who I am, a daughter of a King and God, and I know that He is constantly in my life. I know He's there and I'm never alone. Never. Not once in my life have I been alone. He's always there, ready to forgive me, ready to welcome me into His arms, and ready to aid me in life's struggles. In my life, I have seen the Lord's hands in so many ways in my life and I'm continually learning the truths of His gospel, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice. My father passed away two years ago completely unexpectedly and I remember distinctly having the Holy Spirit there to comfort me in this very hard time in my life. I know He's there and I know He loves not only me but everyone and anyone. He cares for our wellbeing and He wants us to reach out to Him. I am both excited and nervous for the day that I reach the end of my mortal journey and I hope He says at that great day, "Welcome home, my child. Thank you for your sacrifices. Welcome home." I know that this is the true church and that this is the restored gospel and that through these wonderful gifts and items, we can return to our Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that there is a living prophet today and I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet of the Lord. Without this gospel, I wouldn't be here, writing this today and I would not be serving a mission. I know that this gospel has helped me stay on the straight and narrow and I know that I will be safe, protected, and strengthened as long as I stay within it's boundaries. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Well, I've bounced back and forth between home and Idaho, but I've LOVED all of my callings! I've been a Nursery President, a chorister, I've helped with secretarial work, I've also been a substitute teacher for the younger children in primary, and I am currently a ward missionary before I leave for my own mission. I taught the little children from 18 mo. to 3 years in the Nursery for a period of about six months. I absolutely loved that and it was a blessing in my life because I've never been around children that young. I loved teaching the toddlers about Jesus and His work. They would get this excited look on their faces and would immediately recognize Him. They knew who He was and the importance He holds in their lives and they knew to be reverent when talking about him. It brought the Spirit into the room and made me certainly feel the Spirit when they knew that Jesus loved them and that He wanted them to love, share, not push, etc. It has been my favorite calling so far. I just got called to be a ward missionary but I know I'm definitely going to have some great experiences there as well. :)
