Hi I'm Morgan

I'm a college student. A missionary. A daughter, a sister, a friend. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Utah my whole life. I'm the oldest of three children, and I love my family so much! We have the best time together. I love traveling, reading, drawing, and hiking. I just finished my first year at Brigham Young University, where I plan to study Physiology and Developmental Biology because I love learning about how the human body and different biological processes work. It's really incredible to learn about! I'd like to get involved in some kind of medical research someday. I'm also planning on minoring in History. I love learning about all of the neat things people have done over the centuries and see how it affects us even now. Normally, I would be starting school again about now but I will soon be leaving to serve a mission in the Philippines and I couldn't be more excited!

Why I am a Mormon

My family is Mormon so I grew up learning the gospel. I got baptized when I was 8. I went to church every Sunday. I didn't have a dramatic conversion. I generally liked church but after a while, I realized I wasn't sure if I knew it was true for myself. I knew my parents believed it, and most of my friends and neighbors did, too. It took a lot of praying and soul-searching for me to find my own testimony of the gospel. There were no angels or great manifestations. There wasn't even one definite moment when I realized it was true. It was a long and gradual process but I can now say that I know the gospel is true and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. That is why I am a Mormon. I know that no matter what happens, the church is constant and I can count on it, no matter what the world believes or does.

How I live my faith

I serve on my ward's activities committee, which means I help plan and organize fun social events for members of the ward (and nonmembers) to get to know each other and bond as a ward family. It's been a good way for me to get to know some of the amazing people in my ward. I'm not naturally very outgoing but this was a great opportunity for me to grow. I try to live my life in a way that is in accordance with Christ's teachings but I know I often fall short. I still try every day and I know I am improving, despite my shortcomings. I try to live so that my beliefs are evident from my actions. I try to love others and see them the way Christ and Heavenly Father do. I try to serve others and "be an example of the believers" (Timothy 4:12). There's a quote attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi that I love--"Preach the gospel at all times. When necessary, use words." I want my faith to be evident from my lifestyle.
