Hi I'm Alyana

I am Alyana. I grew up in Philippines. I love reading and watching church movies. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the eldest of six children. I grew up in the church with my extended family. My usual hang outs are at home and at church. I love to play badminton with my cousins. I watch movies and read novels during my free time. I am a fan girl but I know my limitations. One of my favorite books is the Twilight because I am a hopeless romantic. I dream of marrying in the temple with the right man prepared by God for me and have eternal family. I love to have many long-distance friends so that when I got a chance to go to other places, I would have a friend who could accommodate me.

Why I am a Mormon

My grandfather was converted by the missionaries. I grew up attending the church every Sunday. I grew up with all my family and cousins going to church. I was baptized when I was eight. Even though I was not directly taught by the missionaries, I know that the gospel is true. When i was old enough, I researched and studied the scriptures. I attended and graduated the Seminary. This church program has helped me a lot in developing and increasing my testimony. When I turned college, I attended Institute. This helped me strengthen my testimony. I came to know more about the gospel and the love of our Savior towards us. I prayed and humbly asked God if the Church is true. And I was answered by a very sweet feeling. I testify that we are part of Heavenly Father's family. We are His children. He loves His children so dearly that He sent His son to atone for our sins. After many years of darkness, He called Prophet Joseph Smith to restore His gospel. I that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. Book of Mormon is an evidence of the Savior's love for us. If we read full intent, we can draw closer to God and really feel His love and blessings for us. Prayer is the best communication tool that is given to us. We can talk with our Heavenly Father through a sincere prayer. He listens and answers our prayers. He knows each and every one of us and the things we face as well. I believe that He wanted us to be closer to Him and He would want to be with us again as much as we wanted to be with Him forever. I testify that these things are true and I leave these things in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the church that is why I do not know how to live without the church. when I was 16, I was called to be one of the leaders among 16 and 17-year old young women. We helped each other with our own concerns and spent fun times together. When I turned 18, there were times when I was called to teach young men and young women in Sunday School. Then I also taught the children ages 2-7. I love babies but I cannot really control them so I asked my leaders to transfer me to children ages 8-11. They were more behaved that is why I enjoyed teaching them. I visit members with some adult women. We share them messages from the scriptures and from the church magazine, the Liahona. I feel happy every time I get to visit members and help them feel the love of Savior for them. I have tried to work with the missionaries as well. I know that Missionary Work is true and it is called of God. I love the Savior so dearly that I wanted to help the building of His Kingdom here on Earth. I know I am not perfect but the Savior would help me overcome these things as long as I put my trust in Him. I wanted to share the restored gospel to those who have not yet heard the message of the Lord. I testify the this work is true.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

We can increase our faith by being obedient to the commandments of God. We may read and ponder the scriptures, pray often and go to church every Sunday. Our faith will be increased as we obey every simple thing that our Savior would want us to do. Show more Show less
