Hi I'm Denise Murray

Hi - I read the Book of Mormon when I was 16, was taught by wonderful Missionaries and became a member at age 17. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am devoted to the Church, and to my Savior. My life is centred on Him and because of the faith I have in Him, my life is wonderful. I am happy and blessed to have all of the good things in life. I have a wonderful family and great church family as well. As I transition into a new career 'mid-life' I have no fear of what the future holds because I am guided by my Heavenly Father and He is with me every step of the way. With that in mind, life is filled with opportunities and joy! It is comforting and peaceful to know I'm on the right path! I am back at University full-time completing a degree in my new field and grateful for the many moments of learning and change that fill my days. I like to think I am a diverse and well balanced person who has put all of my life experiences (both good and not so good) into building up a strong and committed character. The Gospel of Jesus Christ guides me, teaches me, directs me, lifts me up, gives me courage, faith, hope and that peace we all longingly search for. I am a better person today than yesterday because of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptised when I was 17. It has taken me many years to really and truly find myself and have the conviction to live my beliefs. I am a Mormon because I made a choice when I was very young to find peace and contentment. I tried living the way of the world but never found true happiness, it was often temporary and ultimately ended up in searching again. That is until I found and lived the way I have been taught through the Book of Mormon, through prayer and communication with my Heavenly Father. Once you've truly found peace and an understanding of your own position in an eternal perspective, life becomes focused and every moment becomes an opportunity to grow. I am a Mormon because it makes me a better person and gives me a reason to wake up every day with gladness and appreciation for what I have and for who I am.

How I live my faith

I live what I believe and that is how I show the world who I am. Serving in any capacity, however I am able has given me the opportunity to help others when they are in need which has also helped me to grow as a person. I have learnt that the only way to shine bright and strive for excellence is by giving your best effort in all you do. I am guided by my great love of the Book of Mormon and the words, counsel and teachings for everyday life that it contains. This book has helped me to draw closer to God, to know Him better and more fully understand what He expects of me. I live my faith with full purpose of heart and give everything of myself because I love my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father.
