Hi I'm Mallory

I was born and raised in Caldwell, Idaho. I am the fifth of five daughters, no brothers. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of five girl, yes no brothers. I am very involved at my school. I perform in the choir, I play volleyball, I am in student council, and I also do track. I love to play the piano and make arrangements of my favorite songs. I love to be with my friends and hang out or go see movies. I love being a sister and a daughter, because my family means the world to me. I secretly enjoy baking! My mom had her birthday a little while ago and I decided to try out a homemade recipe for cake...that didn't turn out too well. But I really did enjoy it! I love life, as simple as that! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the gospel. My parents are LDS, my grandparents are LDS, and even their parents. But I didn't really quite understand why I was, I just was. But that all changed when I made a goal to search the scriptures and pray daily. This made me realize why I am here on this earth, and the potential I have. Being LDS isn't a title for me, it's a lifestyle. I choose to be Mormon because I want to receive the blessings that God has for me, and all I have to do is keep the commandments. I haven't always loved church, but now I do because I know why I'm there, my purpose is to strive to be better and to somehow become perfect like Christ. This year in seminary, we studied the New Testament. I thought it would be so boring, but when we got to the book of John, things started to change. I studied more and I wanted to know about Christ. We eventually read the section of the crucifixion, and watching and hearing and reading about Christ's death and his suffering in the garden, I right then realized how much I needed the gospel in my life. I am alive because of Christ, and I'm not exactly sure why he did it, because I don't deserve it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is all focused and centered on Christ, and that's why I strive to follow the guide lines and commandments that I am given.

How I live my faith

I am the Mia Maids class president in my ward, and my mom is my leader. I strive my best to be a leader and an example to my class. Although I feel a little inadequate to be the president, I do enjoy and love it. I also participate a lot in seminary. Seminary is such a fantastic way to not only learn, but to teach. I'd like to think that I am an example in my class.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Christ is perfect, but we aren't. And he had to sacrifice His perfect life, to know how the rest of us, sinners, felt. He couldn't have died for us without knowing the pain and the feelings that a human goes through, which makes the atonement so much more personal. He did it for us so that we wouldn't have to. He sacrificed everything to save me, and I don't deserve it. But that is how much he loves and cares for us, and it is only through the atonement that we can live again with him. Show more Show less
