Hi I'm Laura

I live in Hurricane, Utah. I LOVE to sing and be outdoors!!! I am serving a mission in Vancouver, Washington! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I come from a large family where I am the youngest after 8 boys. Because my brothers were all so much older than me, I became an aunt at the age of 2. I currently have 28 nieces and nephew. Let me just say that Christmas time is kind of chaotic in my home. My family is very musical so naturally I grew up participating in music. I am from a fairly small town where there were only about 220 people in my graduating high school class. I have attended one year at a local university studying music and general education. I love to be outdoors where I can appreciate the wonderful creations that the Lord has provided for us to enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church so I never had a miraculous revelation that I was supposed to be baptized and become a member of the church. But that doesn't mean that I haven't been converted. It doesn't mean that I am just following blindly behind what my parents have taught me. I know for myself that this is the Restored Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that when I live by the principles and commandments that this Gospel outlines, I am happy! That is what life is about! Let's all be happy! I know that when I don't live righteously that my world is darker. When I do what is right, my life is filled with light. I know that my Savior lives and that He suffered for my sins so He could be with me again. So, I need to do everything I can to follow in His footsteps so I can meet Him at the end of my life with a jubilant embrace.

How I live my faith

I currently attend a singles ward where I am a ward missionary. I go out with other young single adults every Thursday and visit people who are in our area. We plan fun events where people can come to make friends and be in a safe environment. We actually just had a BBQ in my backyard last week. Before I was in the singles ward, I was involved with the Spanish Branch that is in our area. At first I was really bummed to leave my regular "home ward," but I really learned to love the latino people and served with all my heart while I was there so that when it was time for me to move on to the singles ward, it was hard to leave.
