Hi I'm Kristene Allen

I am a mother of 10, grandmother of 11. I have had 5 children serve missions for our church. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 10 and raising a family has been the most important thing to me. Not just raising a family but a family unto God. I don't know how you would raise a family without the faith and prayer that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has provided for me. I also deal with Anxiety and have children that do too. Having Faith in God's plan for us is the best thing to pull us through each day. I appreciate the blessing of the power of the Priesthood Blessings and Fathers Blessings and the scriptures. The power of thoughts is and staying positive with self talk is so big in the healing and caring of Anxiety. I have had 5 children serve missions for our church and Anxiety has been an obstacle to overcome. But their love for the Lord and their knowledge of His plan for them has helped to pull them through. Also positive Self Talk is important. I love my Grandkids though it took me a minute to get into it. As my youngest child is only two years older than my oldest grandchild. I love my Savior and have always felt close to my Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a mormon and have loved being one all my life. I love that the church has so much for everyone and a path to our Eternal Progress in the world to come. I love that we make covenants with God (like Baptism and Temple) and that we are stamped His. I love knowing that my Savior paid the price for our sins so we can repent and have a chance to start over and to never need to be overtaken with the darkness. I love raising a family in the Gospel. I once had someone ask me if any of my 10 children had rebelled from what we had taught them and my answer was "when you learn to do life with Faith and Prayer you don't want to do it any other way." Also with the Power of the Priesthood (the power to act in God's name) I feel like I have a direct line to help from Heaven. Also I love the Book of Mormon. It is a strengthening book and a witness of Jesus Christ. It has held answers for me throughout my life.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has many opportunitys for us to serve. Right now I am in the Presidency of our world-wide Woman's organization in our area. I love watching over the Woman and their families as we have lessons for our spiritual growth on Sunday and we do activities for our physical and emotional needs on the weekdays. We just had a hike day and next month we will have a backyard social. We also have a bookclub month and Christmas crafts. One of my favorite callings was when I worked with the Youth in our church in Germany during the cold war days. I worked with Servicemens youth over there and they were a great bunch of kids. We did an acitivity each month to help them to strength one another. In the scriptures it tells us to meet often to strengthen one another and to teach one another. My children give talks in our church and my boys pass and prepare the sacrament each week and once a month on our Fasting Sunday they collect Fast offering for the Poor and the Needy. It all builds character in our youth. My son just went to a camp this summer with the young men in our area and it was all about doing challenging and hard things together.

What is the Relief Society?

Kristene Allen
I love belonging to the Relief Society of our church. I have served in many callings within the Relief Society. The prophet organized Relief Society shortly after the church was organized as the woman had a large desire to serve while the brethren were building the temple. The prophet told them that the Lord was pleased with their desire to organize, but that the Lord had a much bigger plan for them and that as they served that the angels would attend them. There is a power in the goodness of woman and I love the organization. i have watched my Great Grandmother and Grandmother and Mother all serve in the Relief Society as as they come together to serve there is a great power in the Sisterhood.
