Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a musician. I'm a full-time student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a born and raised Texan, and no matter where I go that’ll always be so. I have a deep passion for music, and I study at Brigham Young University. I somehow manage to live a productive life even while being simplistic, detailed, eccentric and methodical all at the same time.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been a great blessing, and I guess some would say that because of that I had it easy finding out what I wanted in life or if the church was in fact based on true doctrine. This was actually not the case. I struggled to find my way as a teenager because of my desire to be accepted by my friends. Yet somehow in my heart I knew that by doing everything I had heard growing up in the church would turn out to be for my benefit, even if they seemed uncool. For a while growing up I only followed the teachings of the church because I knew that it was expected of me by others of my faith, and that people knowing I professed to believe certain things would hold me to those standards for living. Things changed though when I entered my sophomore year of high school. that was the first time I had ever sat down to read the Book of Mormon for myself. My life was immediately changed by the power of this book. I learned things about myself because of my reading of the Book of Mormon, and because of my newly found testimony, I was able to make it through some very hard times in my life. From there, things have only progressed! Everyday I see God's hand in my life, blessing me and uplifting me, and I know it is because of my faith in him. I know that when I try everyday to keep his commandments and the promises I have made with him, he is pleased and blesses me with strength and testimony. I have personally experienced the difference that knowing the truth about this church and the Book of Mormon can make in one's life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as a Mormon by trying to do everything I am asked to do by church leaders and by being a strong member of my family. I was part of a student ward in my time at BYU, and I served as the president of our Sunday School there. It was a truly great experience, I love teaching others about Jesus Christ! Currently I live my faith by serving a 2 year mission for the Church in Brazil.
