Hi I'm Keaton

I work with ceramics, I'm a cellist, a gamer, an artist, and most importantly I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name Is Keaton and I am serving a full time mission in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission. I enjoy all form arts; weather it's playing the cello, drawing, or playing my Cello. I enjoy gaming with friends. I love reading Fantasy and most of my art surrounds my engagement with this genera. I play Dungeons and Dragons with my Dad and friends. I was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints in Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised Mormon I came to have a desire to be a Mormon because of an experience I had when I was 13. I never really ever had a reason why I should go to church and live this lifestyle. I went because my parents had raised me that way. However, eventually this reason just was not good enough for me. I wanted to know if what I had been taught was true. It was at this time that I was challenged by a leader in the church's Young Mens program to read the Book of Mormon. I respected and admired this friend and adviser and I took up his challenge. I began to read the Book of Mormon for the first time. After a little over six months at the end of the book I read a verse of scripture that is in the Book of Moroni. In the Tenth chapter and fourth though fifth verses Moroni, the prophet who is writing, invites all readers to pray and ask our loving Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon is true. I had been reading but I had yet to ask God if this was a true book, so I followed this council and knelt down and began to pray. As I did I began to feel an indescribable feeling in my heart: I had received an answer. This overwhelming feeling told me that the Book of Mormon is true. I thought in my head "This is true, I know it is." I have never forgotten this experience and am grateful for it. I have continued to have these experiences throughout my short time in this life, but each one has just strengthened my conviction that this IS the true and only living church of Christ again on the earth today. The Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion and it testifies that Jesus is the Christ. Everyone can come to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is the Lord's kingdom just as I did, through reading the Book of Mormon and asking God in humble prayer. He will give an answer.

How I live my faith

I believe the most important way that I live my faith is through service. We should serve as Christ served. I am currently serving an amazing mission in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission! I am trying to share our faith with others so that they can have the happiness that it brings to their lives. Another way we live by our faith is by accepting callings or positions in the church. I know that the Lord has plans for us and when we do his will he shapes us like a potter does clay. We become who the Lord want's us to be. As we serve in our appointed callings, follow his will, and humbly accepting his guidance we become more refined. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve a mission because I am refined daily. I live my faith by serving and accepting what the Lord asks of me.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Keaton
We beleive in Prosolyting because we know that what we share is ture. We have felt the joy that comes through Christ and we wish to share it. I have felt his strenghtening power come through the Atonement and I want to share it with my brothers and sisters. That is why I chose to share the message with the world! Sometimes in life we find something of great value and we want to share it with friends and family. I have experienced the value of this gosple through the Book of Mormon. When we prosolyte we invite everyone to experience it for themselves and to read the book. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

Keaton
The priesthood is God's power given to man on earth. No priesthood holder can use the priesthood without God's permission. Worthy males receive certain duties and callings in the Church that relate to their priesthood. The priesthood can perform miracles however, the blessings that come from it are based on the faith of those who it affects. With the priesthood we can bless the sick and the afflicted. I personally have seen happen in my life through my Nana. When I was younger my Nana found out that she had cancer and they operated to remove it. Time went by and we found out that the cancerous cells had metastasized to her spine. This news was a death sentence. It nearly impossible to cure cancer once it has metastasized to bone. She went through Kimo-theripy in an attempt to save her life and was in much of pain. She asked my father to give her a blessing for healing. In my fathers blessing he promised her that she could be healed if she had faith. Soon after the blessing she went to the doctors for another check up and they results came back that she was completely cancer free. The cancer on her spine had gone. I know that she had the faith to be healed; a blessing that was secured by God's priesthood power. We have the priesthood to act in God's will to bless the lives of our fellow Brothers and Sisters here on Earth just as my Nana was blessed so can we. The priesthood truely is God's power given to imperfect men on earth. Show more Show less
