Hi I'm Kennedy Bird

I grew up in a town right outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. I attend Brigham Young University-Idaho.I am 19 and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Sophomore at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying Dietetics. I love to play the piano and have been for about 11 years. I played basketball in high school as well as running cross country and long distance in track and field. I am from a big family and am pretty close to them all. Family is very important to me and I cant wait to have a family of my own someday.

Why I am a Mormon

Since I have been a member my whole life, many people think I stay with it because of my parents. That is not true. I was baptised when I was 8 and was given accountability for my actions. Since then, I have learned for myself through prayer, reading the Book of Mormon and fasting, that this is the true church. I have been given so much happiness and blessings from following the gospel. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and was written for our day. I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross and was resurrected three days later. I know that through the power of the atonement, we can be cleansed of our sins and that we can turn any problem we have towards Heavenly Father and he will help us through it. We are given strength in our weakest times. I know that Jesus Christ stands at the head of this church. I know that Jesus is always standing there with open arms to take us back into his fold. I know that I am a daughter of God and he loves me for who I am. I know that Jesus Christ lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to become more like Jesus Christ. I am currently attending a school that is funded by the LDS Church. Here, I am able to be surrounded by so many people who believe the same thing as me. I attend church every Sunday with my friends. I am a Indexing Coordinator in my ward. Indexing is where you take pictures of genealogical records and type up the information it gives to help make the records available online for those who are working on their family history. I am also blessed with the opportunity to share my talents by being the Ward Choir Pianist. I try hard everyday to serve others even in the smallest ways.
