Hi I'm Joshua

I'm a full-time Missionary for the Lord, serving in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission and I'm Extremely Grateful to be a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Utah, have an amazing and loving mother, father, and 7 siblings. I have been extremely blessed to have the restored gospel in my life and to currently have the opportunity to be laboring among God's children in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission. My post-mission plans include college, marriage, and potentially, the military. I have a passion for business, organization, and leadership and am looking to pursue a degree in the realms of business administration, accounting, psychology, or technical fields. I enjoy watching and playing basketball, soccer, and oompa! My favorite scriptures include: Joshua 1:9, 3 Nephi 5:13, and Alma 36:30. My greatest satisfaction and joy is found in my family and the gospel; as I've been experiencing more and more of life I'm coming to learn that few things beyond these two things really matter in life. I love this gospel and know and testify of its truthfulness!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because this church and the teachings within it (the Gospel of Jesus Christ) are true. Through the confirming witness of the Holy Ghost I have come to know of a surety that this IS God's one true and living church here upon the earth. I am a Mormon because I have been blessed with the knowledge that this church holds the Priesthood keys and has the right to revelation from God through His ordained Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I am a member of His church because He has blessed me with this knowledge and understanding so that I can help invite others to come to this same knowledge He has blessed me with.

How I live my faith

- Through inviting other to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored Gospel through, Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. - By striving everyday to be more like Christ, through serving those around me selflessly and striving each day to bring a smile to someones face and light into their lives. - Also by keeping the covenants I have made with my Father in Heaven and utilizing the Atonement when I make mistakes, need comfort, and need guidance and help in my life. - Another way I live my faith is by striving everyday to overcome my weaknesses. - Through striving to be humble and teachable

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Joshua
Church services last 3 hours, separated into three blocks. In the first hour we partake of the Sacrament (commonly known as communion), which is symbolic of being the death and Resurrection of Christ. As we partake of it we are promising to the Lord that we will do our best to be better than we were the last week. The two other meetings consist of smaller and more personal classes where we learn more from the scriptures and the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is also a great place to increase our faith and build friendships with other people. Visitors are ALWAYS welcome! We would love to have you and create a friendship with you! Show more Show less
