Hi I'm Kari

I grew up in Orem, Utah. I am a mother of six children, 5 boys and 1 girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of six chiIdren. I am working to finish my bachelor's degree in English Education. My favorite hobby is music. I play the guitar, a little banjo, sing, and write music with my family. A close second to my favorite hobby is camping and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church since I was baptized at age eight. My conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ was a gradual process through my growing up years. The most powerful contributors to my conversion center around sacred music and the testimony of living prophets and apostles. When I sing the hymns and other sacred music, or listen to the Prophet or apostles speak, I know by the power of the Holy Ghost that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I know He cares about His children and has provided ways for us to communicate with Him and receive the help we need to get through life.. I have continued to follow the gospel because it brings peace and happiness into my life regardless of challenges I face.

How I live my faith

Until recently, I taught the gospel with my husband each Sunday. I love the scriptures and the words of living prophets and apostles, and I loved teaching them. Currently, I serve my friends and neighbors by organizing meals and other kinds of service for those in need, in my ward and neighborhood. I spend the majority of my time with my husband and children. I feel like the greatest thing I can do in my life is to raise children with faith in God and an awareness of others that leads them to serve those around them.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Kari
Husband and wife work together as equal partners to raise children. We each use our strengths to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our children. It is certainly challenging at times, but it is the most worthwhile thing a man and woman can ever do. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Kari
Our faith is centered in the Lord, Jesus Christ. We demonstrate that faith in him by striving to keep His commandments. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Kari
We are striving to be like the Savior, Jesus Christ, and so our efforts to help God's children include all of our brothers and sisters regardless of their faith or even any belief in God. Show more Show less
