Hi I'm Tracy McCabe

I grew up in Edmonton. I am married to my second husband, and have two boys from my first marriage. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I currently own my own business, Soothing Sensations, which is a mobile nail salon. I had been ill for nearly 2 years before, but once I was healthy enough I went back to school and became an Esthetician. I like to play computer games, read, and spend time with my family. My oldest boy is on his own, graduated high school, and going to have his first child in November. My other son is in junior high school (middle school). I have 2 rather senior cats. I've divorced, and remarried, and my husband now is the love of my life and we are now sealed in the temple for time and all eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I was originally baptized into the church when I was 10. I saw two extremes while growing up; my parents divorced when I was 6. My mother and step father took to conversion very well, while my father and step mother were heavy drinkers and smokers. I was weak and fell away from the church for many years. When I met my second husband, he wasn't a member, but he recognized instantly that I still identified myself as a member even though I was inactive. He became interested, and through his lessons with the missionaries I remembered what it was about the church I loved so much and returned. I remembered my testimony, and it has grown ever since. I know this church is the true church. Not just believe, but know it for truth because of the answers I have received from my prayers to Heavenly Father. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and the one to bring back the church in its fullness. I have made covenants (promises) with the Lord, both at my original baptism and in the temple, which I strive hard to keep. I know that if I keep those covenants and his commandments, I will be blessed. I have been blessed many, many times, and even with my current hardships I know He is here with me and comforts me constantly, keeping my burdens light.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a calling in my ward as librarian. I love this job, since I love books so much! It is helping me to remember the people in my ward better, which I certainly need. I don't really know a lot of people since I am rather shy, and even fewer are outside the church, so I simply try to be a good example to others around me to show how good it is to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Now that I own my own business, I see people frequently who are not members. If they have questions, I will answer them happily. Otherwise I simply do my best to show the Light of Christ in my life and how I do things to be a good example and serve others.
