Hi I'm Adam Bayer

I'm from Petoskey, Michigan, was born in Vegas. I love playing soccer. I'm currently serving in the France, Paris Mission!

About Me

I was born in Las Vegas, moved to Albuquerque, New Mexco. From there to Dublin, Ohio and now my family lives in Petoskey, Michigan. My older brother served his mission in Scotland speaking Mandarin Chinese and is currently going to school at BYU. He will be going to China soon to teach students English!! My little brother is currently in Middle School and is a stud athlete!!! I love sports and reading my scriptures. I soccer, I play either center defensive mid, or stopper. Defence is my jam!My soccer team was state finalist for division 2 in Michigan in my senior year of 2012-13. I also injoy playing basketball and lacrosse, I was on my schools varsity basketball team, I was one of the shooting guards. In lacrosse I played midi! I enjoy staying active and playing pick up games with friends. I am on my mission right now, called to severe in the France Paris mission. I really enjoy being out here in France. It is not the easiest thing to serve a mission, but it is definitely rewarding! I've learned 56.73%more so far on my mission than I could have if I just stayed home and went to school. Missions really change people, as it has already done to me. For school after the mission, I would enjoy going to BYU for a few years, then to graduate school at OSU (Ohio State University) for Optometry. I always enjoyed physics, math, and learning about the human anatomy, so I think it is a perfect match! I hope to own my own family practice one day.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents got divorced when I was young and that's when my step dad came into our lives. He was born and raised in the church. He had a big influence in our family and we joined church through him, wasn't the easiest for my parents to get me out of bed to go to church in the mornings when I was young, but now, I'm grateful that they did! I gained a strong testimony that the Book of Mormon is true, and the rest fell into place. I believe that my step dad came into our lives for a reason. Heavenly Father knew our family needed something, a better life for my brother and I. That's just what he gave us.

How I live my faith

I work diligently with all my doings and always strive to keep the spirit with me at all times. I apply all that I learn in church through my daily life to help me and others around me. Studying the scriptures every morning really helps me keep the Spirit with me throughout the day. And reading the Book of Mormon, you can find something different every time you read. Soon, I'm going to start reading the Book of Mormon with a certain question in mind, mark scriptures that answer this question, then re-read with a different question and keep doing it. This was a recommendation given to all of us by Elder David A. Bednar, I think we should all take the time to at least do it once or twice!

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Adam Bayer
Becoming a member or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a big commitment but it is such a blessing! All you need to do is contact the missionaries in your area, that will gladly contact you and teach you more about the church. Or go to lds.org to look up where the closest chapel is to you and the service times, that way you can assist a church meeting and talk to missionaries/members. Once you have been taught the lessons and show faith in the Lord and show that you are keeping his commandments, you will be worthy to be baptized and confirmed into the church! Good luck to you! You'll do great! Show more Show less
