Hi I'm Doug

I've always been a member of the LDS Church. I practice law and am a Scouting volunteer in my spare time. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young husband and father, which means I have my hands full all the time. In my "spare time," I work as an attorney and volunteer in the community with Scouting and teaching in public schools. In any extra time that I have, I do odd projects around the house and read good books. I'm currently reading Doris Kearns's "Team of Rivals."

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the LDS Church. For many years, I simply followed my parents' examples and teachings, but I remember when I came to know for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ is taught by living prophets. I had read The Book of Mormon for the first time, and I knelt to pray about it. The Spirit of the Lord touched my heart and has on many occasions since. The gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life and made me so happy.

How I live my faith

As with most members of the LDS Church, I have a calling (or service responsibility) in my local congregation. You have probably seen the Church's missionaries in white shirts, ties and name tags. As part of my calling, I help our missionaries teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to our friends, family and neighbors. I also find places in the community where I can be of service to other people, such as volunteering in the local schools, helping neighbors clean their yards, organizing local food drives, and working in one of the LDS Church's welfare projects.

Are Mormons Christians?

Doug
I am a Mormon, and I personally believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as my Savior and Redeemer. Mormons are Christians. We believe in the Jesus Christ whose life is recorded in the Holy Bible, and we believe that the Book of Mormon contains other stories of His life and the lives of some of his followers.
