Hi I'm Rainy

I am learning to speak Spanish,I love helping people ,and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning to speak Spanish. I love talking, singing, and Latin dancing. I love spending time with my family and telling others about my family that i am so proud of. I love listening to country music all the time all day long when I have the chance. I love the country I grew up in a lot of small towns in the country. I love learning about the Spanish culture and the dancing that is common there. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all my life. I love having the Gospel in my life and knowing that I am literally never alone.

Why I am a Mormon

I have thought a lot about why I have chosen to be a Mormon. The main blessing that I constantly realize that I receive from being a member is all the circumstances and situations that I get to automatically avoid because of my standards that go along with my church. To better explain in our church we have a pamphlet called For Strength of Youth it describes standards that we live by as members and it has helped me realize that being modest in my dress and refraining from swearing in my speech helps me come closer to my Father in Heaven. I have a strong testimony that the church is true, I know that I could never leave the church, because I have a knowledge of the plan of Salvation and I know that I have a Father in Heaven that is watching over me right now and for always. He wants me to return to live with Him when I have completed my mission here on Earth. The church helps me feel wanted, needed, and loved.

How I live my faith

I am a student at a Brigham Young university. I attend religion classes every week where i get to read selected scriptures and then dig deep and contemplate how to apply that to my life. I love to serve people, when I am serving I get to focus all my attention on them and I feel closer to my Savior who willing served everyone around Him. I visit with the elderly and try to lift them up and help them remember who they are; divine children of our Heavenly Father. I try to help them know that they are loved, wanted, and remembered. I know that it is important to me to be reminded of that knowledge so I try to help others know that also.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Rainy
A ward is a group of members in an specific area. The church is separated into groups or wards so that more people have the opportunity to be apart of the ward callings and more people can be taught on a personal level. It is more efficient to have smaller groups to preside over. A church calling is a title and responsibility that the Bishop feels inspired to give you. He prayers and puts people in certain calling so that members can grow and strengthen one another.A branch is a ward for a smaller area. If there are less members in an area than it is called a branch. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Rainy
A temple is the house of the Lord; it is where members can feel the Lord's spirit the strongest. To go to the temple it is required to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for a year. To be able to attend the temple after that you have to get a temple recommend Show more Show less
