Hi I'm Jed

I'm a father of 5, I enjoy sports and the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jed, I am the husband of the most beautiful girl and the father of 5 beautiful children. I grew up in a small community where I learned to work hard as a boy hauling hay, building houses, and working at my families store. Growing up I loved to play sports, go camping, fishing, hunting, snow ski, water ski, and be with my family outdoors. I served two year mission in Venezuela where I learned to love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the people of Venezuela. I spent 13 years in college and finally finished a PhD in engineering when we had 4 children. I work on instruments that fly on NASA satellites to collect data that scientists use to better understand our planet and universe. I'm a husband, I'm a dad, I'm an outdoor enthusiast, I'm an engineer, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents who loved me and taught me that I have a Savior who loves me. As a young boy I felt the peace and strength of living the gospel of Jesus Christ because of the example of my parents, siblings, and grandparents. As I grew, I came to know through the impressions and feelings of the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord's true church. Through the sweet whisperings of the Holy Ghost I have learned many times that Joseph Smith was a prophet and the Book of Mormon is true. Serving a two year mission, and experiencing the miracle of teaching the gospel and witnessing others come unto Christ, has forever cemented my testimony of Jesus Christ. Each stepping stone in my life has strengthened my knowledge that the gospel is true. I find myself now as a young father praying that I can teach my children by example, and that they will also live in accordance with the commandments. I know this is my life's greatest work, to love my family and teach them the way of true happiness. I am a Mormon because I know that right now, more that ever, I am in need of the Lord's help.

How I live my faith

I love my faith by helping my wife teach our children love and respect for God and his son Jesus Christ. Each morning we pray as a family and give thanks to our Heavenly Father for our blessings and we ask for his guidance in our lives. I love to serve in our community and help others come to feel of the joy and peace only found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I help organize activities for the young men and women in our town where they learn to serve the Lord, prepare themselves to be righteous fathers and mothers, and strengthen each other through righteous living. I have felt the strength and faith of the rising generation and I am grateful to be blessed by their talents.
