Hi I'm Benjamin A. Magalhaes Rivera

I live in Springville, Utah, I'm currently serving a mission in Irvine, California, and I love having a good laugh.

About Me

Well I love ballroom dancing (Latin styles are my favorite), singing, long-boarding, listening to music (mainly electronic styles), going to concerts, watching movies(Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is my favorite) and watching Adventure Time, Regular show, and Flapjack; swimming, playing my Ukulele, playing video games (Nintendo and PlayStation are the best), reading the scriptures (I like the New Testament most), playing soccer, and EATING! I love eating food. If I could be a professional food taster for the rest of my life, I would never be an unhappy man. My all time favorite thing to eat is Cheesecake, and second to that Is a fresh mango... maybe some coxinha. I love being around positive people and having an awesome time. I love most of all, the simple pleasures of life. I don't need something huge to make me happy (although they do seam nice at times). My favorite season is winter and I like stormy weather! I want to go somewhere with a lot of snow or a lot of rain. My favorite color is Purple. I don't like taking the average smiley pictures, I like being silly and have a good laugh. I want to go to college for Anthropology, Sociology or Psychology. I'm still undecided with which should be my major. Last of all, I love being a California, Irvine MISSIONARY!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I know without a doubt that It's true. Every question that I have, every reason for doubt, and every problem I face, I know I can turn to God through prayer and scripture study in order to solve everything. All the blessings and life changing properties it has are beyond my understanding. The Book of Mormon is just as legitimate as the Bible and offers just as much insight into my understanding of God and Jesus Christ as the Bible. I now feel like I have a personal relationship with God and know that even if I mess up at times, he will never abandon me, he will never forsake me. God is loving and kind, and Jesus Christ is just the same. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and he brought about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and translated the Book of Mormon using the power of God. Because of what I've learned from this gospel, I don't fear death, I like trials and embrace them, because I know they were put there to make me grow and become better than before, I can now, forever and always, look forward with a smile and a positive outlook on the world.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and doing what I can to help others realize the truth of the faith. It's tough at times, but extremely rewarding.
