Hi I'm Taliah

I'm a wife. I'm a singer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a recent college graduate with a degree in Music Education. I'm also newly married. At this point in my life, I really have no idea where a career will take me. I've thought about teaching choir, elementary music, and/or voice lessons because I am grateful for the teachers I've had in my life that have gotten me to where I am today. I'd also like to keep performing as I go throughout my life. The thing that I'm most excited about in my future is having children and taking care of my home and family. I want my home to be a place of refuge and peace for my family members. My husband and I are working on creating that atmosphere now so it can enrich the lives of our children when they come. I enjoy singing, reading, playing the piano, cross-stitching, and most especially spending time with my family. I absolutely love living in Southern Utah where there is so much beauty all around. My family has always enjoyed spending time together hiking and camping in the great outdoors. I live an incredibly blessed life!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of this church because it brings me joy and happiness! That is the whole point of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father has a plan that enables each of us to return and live with Him again and have eternal joy. Knowing where I came from and my potential for eternal happiness through the Atonement of Jesus Christ gives my life meaning and direction. It allows me to realize what the most important things in life truly are and make decisions based on those priorities. I have felt Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love for me and their guidance as I strive to become better so that I can eventually live with Them again. I have felt the peace that the Lord gives in difficult times as I pray and ask for comfort. I can feel His love for me when I think of all the beautiful blessings that are mine because of Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in my day-to-day life by trying to be loving towards others as the Savior would. I really believe that the most important thing I can do in life is serve other people. I'm not always perfect at this, but I have found that when you do things for others not only are they blessed, but it makes you feel extremely happy and fulfilled as well. One way that the Church helps me with this goal is the visiting teaching program. Women are assigned other women (we call each other sisters) in the congregation that they are to keep a special watch over. We get to know those sisters personally by visiting with them at least once every month and offering our services if they may need anything. I have gained great friendships and been blessed by being a visiting teacher and by being visited by other sisters. I try to do things that will allow the Holy Ghost to be my constant companion to strengthen and comfort me and help me be my best. Every day I pray to my Heavenly Father. What a blessing this is! It gives me a chance to express my gratefulness for all of the blessings that He has given me. I've learned that if you want a good pick-me-up, just think about all of the things you are thankful for. Through prayer, I am also able to express my problems and anxieties and ask for help and blessings in the areas that I need that day. I know that I have a loving Father in Heaven who hears each of my prayers, understands me, and sends me comfort and love. I also read from the scriptures and from the words of modern prophets every day. This helps me learn the doctrines of the Gospel by looking to examples in the scriptures and relating them to my own situations. I enjoy attending church meetings on Sundays to worship the Lord and learn more about Him and His teachings. It is wonderful to learn from the other people and their experiences that they share at church. We help each other to learn, grow, and become more like Jesus Christ.
