Hi I'm Sydney Marr

I'm a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it.

About Me

I am 20 years old and my husband and I were recently married on August 26, 2017 in the Las Vegas Nevada temple for time and all eternity. I am a full time student at The University of Utah working on my bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I will hopefully pursue my master's in either Speech Language Pathology or Applied Behavioral Analysis (I can't quite decide). Life has a funny way of changing up on us. I am the oldest of 3 girls. I was born and raised a member of the church. My mom was a member her entire life and took us to church every week and my Dad is not a member. He's just not a super religious person in general and that's fine with me. He and my mom are happily married and my family is great. I love them tons!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love it. Honestly, there is nothing in my life that brings me more joy than the joy that comes from living this gospel. When i feel the Spirit and learn and know and understand the truths of this church and its gospel, there is no way I can deny it. I learn more about this gospel everyday. This gospel has helped me through so much in my life and without it would feel so lost. I know that this church is the true church. I live it because I want to be happy. I love it because nothing in this world can bring me more joy and happiness.

How I live my faith

I'm not a perfect person, but I do the best I can. I have definitely had my fair share of ups and downs with my testimony of this gospel and I have not always made the best decisions for me. But luckily the Atonement of Jesus Christ allowed me to repent, change and be forgiven. I strive to do what the Lord wants me to do. Daily I do all I can to strengthen my relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior. I try to overcome my weaknesses and keep pushing forward with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and hope that the Lord is mindful of me and will help me as long as I keep my covenants.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Sydney Marr
Of course I believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today! His name is Russell M. Nelson and he is an absolutely amazing man. Who would be there to lead, guide and help organize the church if we didn't have a prophet? Why can't we have a prophet today? If there were prophets back then, why can't we have a prophet now? They are just as real now as they used to be. God still calls people to be prophets to lead the church on the Earth today. This doesn't mean the prophet is in control. The prophet tells the people of the entire world, not just our church, what the Lord would have him say and do. The prophet does according to God's will, not his own. Show more Show less
