Hi I'm Nick

I was raised on a farm, and became an engineer. I currently study the risk of space debris on NASA satellites. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two small children, and am married to a wonderful wife. I enjoy woodworking, working on classic cars, music, and playing computer games; although with the children there isn't much time for hobbies these days. My interests lie in building and fixing things, which aligns perfectly with my chosen career fields of scientific analysis and software. I hope someday to be able to retire with my wife in a small home in a quiet town and enjoy visiting our children and their children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon first and foremost because I believe the Church is true, and teaches what Christ taught when he was here on the Earth. I know this because the Holy Spirit has testified this to me, not because someone told me it was true. I believe that through our Prophet, we receive direct revelation from Jesus Christ that is relevant for our day and that builds upon prior revelations and scripture. I believe that families can be together forever, and that gives me an entirely different perspective on my marriage and home life. I know that it it not temporary so I work every day to try and make those relationships better. It results in a happier home life for me, my wife and my children. Finally, I know that I am very far from being perfect. But I also know that as long as I am continually working on becoming a better person, I can return to my Father in Heaven because of Jesus Christ's sacrifice for us. Being a member of this Church has given me the road map I need to make it through this life, while becoming a better person as a result of the journey.

How I live my faith

I have been given the opportunity to be a Sunday School teacher, and teach the basic Gospel principles which are given to us in the scriptures. I really enjoy the discussions that come from the members of my class, and there has never been another time in my life where I've learned so much in a short amount of time. I am also very active in the missionary effort, and help our full-time missionaries wherever I can, whether that is feeding them dinner or visiting people's homes with them. I also participate in the Home Teaching program where each member visits at least one family in the church. It's a wonderful way to make sure that every family in the church has someone looking out for them, and can help them on a moment's notice.
