Hi I'm Zachary

Born and raised in Indiana. A double major in Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic and homeland security. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Well, I am 23 years old. I am studying to become a paramedic and work in Homeland Security. I want to protect my community through my profession and someday become Secretary of Homeland Security. I am a recent convert as of June 2013. I love to write, all kinds of music, wrestling, boxing, and MMA. I have been a CNA since I was a junior in high school and an EMT since the end of my senior year. I love what I do. Their is nothing like holding somebody's life in your hands. I love to travel, and someday hope to see the entire world.

Why I am a Mormon

My friend and I worked for the same ambulance company several years ago, and due to budget cuts we lost our job the same day. I witnessed how the church helped her, who is a member, by making sure she was not hungry nor homeless, nor living in a shelter. I was amazed at how much a church helps their own. For years I wanted to find more out, but due to quickly finding two new jobs and putting myself through school full time, I never had the schedule that would allow me to meet with missionaries. May 14, 2013 I see three young men walking my neighborhood and I waived. As I left later on I saw them, and chased them down. They came to the house that next week and shared the gospel with me. I tried hard to trump them, for having 9 years of church attendance under my belt, but failed to do so. After listening to them for a few weeks, I felt a warmth, love, and a sense of home I have never felt before. I gave my life to Christ, and accepted the gospel and the truth of the LDS church. It was the best decision I have ever made. A life without drugs and alcohol, I thought was not possible. But I was wrong. I have been sober, with few and minimal withdraws. Life is more beautiful without so much toxic substances running though my body, and allowing God to take over. I have gained a huge family, that has been their for me and loved me, even when my biological family fails to do it. I have found my transformed from a sinful nature to a Godly nature. The love I feel from God is such an amazing feeling, and I ask you to pray for the truth.

How I live my faith

I have been recently ordained to Priesthood. My calling is to be a home teacher. My duties are to prepare and pass the sacrament as well as to look after church members and go to their homes and share a lesson of God's word with them. In order to perform these duties, I spend time in all the scriptures and pray constantly throughout the day. I am quick to praise the father in all my blessing, and even in times when a blessing is hard to see if at all. I look for ways to preach the restored gospel, but tend to do more of that when I am not trying.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

I have lost a few friends over this decision, however I gained so many brothers and sisters that I would not trade the world for. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

With an open heart and mind, ask plenty of questions. I made books of questions for the missionaries. Read the scriptures and handouts that we will give you. AND PRAY and let the Father give you an answer. Show more Show less
