Hi I'm Amy

I am an artist. I have run 5 half marathons and counting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a sculpture student at BYU Provo University. When I'm not making art, sleeping, or eating my famous (in my family at least) home-make pretzels, I can be found reading a fantasy, sci-fi or murder mystery novel. I love the outdoors and enjoy skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer and running all year round. I have done a study abroad in London for a semester and while living there I traveled all across England, Scotland and Wales, even taking a jaunt to Paris for a week. I have been called on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve the people in Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe it. When I say "it" I mean the gospel of Jesus Christ which has been restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Living the standards and principles of this church has blessed my life. I can honestly say that I am a very happy person. I have trials and struggles, just like everyone else. But I know that I can overcome them, and that the Lord is on my side. I have been blessed for my faith in Christ and I have come to know him through sincere prayer and pondering. I have read the Book of Mormon and I have prayed to know of it's truth, for myself. I know that it is a true book, bearing witness of Christ and his visit to the people who lived in the Americas during ancient times.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively participating in my church. I have held various callings in the church, working as a teacher for 8-9 kids, 16-18 year old young women, and have been called as a visiting teacher to several other adult female members of my ward. I love being involved in my church, especially in helping to plan fun activities outside of church. I have helped plan dances, sports/games activities, and even a chili-cook off. My faith is not just something that I kindle on Sunday. It is a lifestyle. Even while I find joy in actively serving in my church, I also love serving in my community, whether it is helping clean up the neighborhood pool or attending a city-sponsored bike race. The things that I do, whether in the church or in the community, I do as a representative of Christ.
