Hi I'm Shawn James

I'm attending Utah State University and am currently preparing to serve a mission in San Jose, California

About Me

I have lived in seven different states throughout the US. I just finished my freshman year at Utah State University and had an awesome year. I am currently working 15 hour days installing automatic safety covers on pools in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. I am preparing to be a full time spanish speaking missionary. Music is my biggest passion: I know about a lot of music, I enjoy taking the subway up to New York for concerts, certain songs conjure up some of my best memories, I have played guitar in several bands, and I have recorded, mixed, and produced tons of my bands songs. I also enjoy boxing, and really want to get a motorcycle when I get back from my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that it is true. I have felt God in my life and I can't doubt it, and If it wasn't for that I would not be on the path I am now. I know that there is more to life than partying and working. I spent some time outside of the Mormon church as a Christian pursuing happiness through anything that brought it. It was lots of fun but I always felt like something was missing. The best party I have ever attended could not even compare to the happiness I feel in moments of being a member of this church. For once in my life I feel like I am right where I belong. I'm so happy and I know exactly what I want.

How I live my faith

I am setting aside the next two years of my life to serve a mission and invite others to come unto Christ. I am currently reading and studying the scriptures so that I can become more knowledgable about the Gospel. I am also praying multiple times daily and trying to strengthen my relationship with Heavenly Father. I make plenty of mistakes, I am not perfect. And thanks to the atonement of Jesus Christ, I know that I don't have to be perfect. I try my absolute hardest and I am always trying to strengthen my weakness and become a better person.
