Hi I'm McKenna Burgess!!

I love to laugh. I am a cheerleader and attended BYU-I. I am serving in the Virginia Richmond Mission. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family and love to learn. I like to read and to spend quality time with my friends. My hobbies include writing letters/notes to people and making up words to songs as I go. I also enjoy cleaning (weird, I know!) I have a testimony of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and am so blessed to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I know it is the only true church on the earth. I have a personal testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I can not deny it. I was raised in the church and sometimes people think that means I was brainwashed. But I want to let everyone know that when we are taught things, we are always invited to find out for ourselves; and that is exactly what I did! I had a sincere desire to know for myself so I read The Book of Mormon all the way through on my own (yes it took a while) and when I finished I prayed to Heavenly Father to know if what I had read was true. I invite you to do the same. Answers to prayers are not always overwhelming feelings or impressions, but most often small and comforting feelings that allow you to feel true joy and peace; even if the answer is not what you wanted. I am Mormon because of experiences I have had and because the examples set for me by my parents, church leaders, and teachers.

How I live my faith

I am an example. I live it. In high school I kept busy with extra circular activities and was known as "McKenna the Mormon". During my senior year, I helped plan a youth camp for girls ages 12-18. While in college, I have sent in my mission papers and recieved my call to Richmond, Virginia! I live my faith by honorably representing our Savior!

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

McKenna Burgess!!
Some people call Mormons a cult because they don't understand our beliefs. Show more Show less
