Hi I'm Caitlin L.

I'm a small town girl getting ready to go on a mission. I am a convert to this church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a Montana girl, I love hunting, fishing and anything that has to do with the outdoors. If I could spend every day outside, I would. I played softball and volleyball in high school and still love playing whenever I can. I just finished my second year of school in Utah and I plan on finishing my teaching degree when I come home from my mission. My family is pretty small, but really close. There is nothing in the world that I would trade them for. They are such a huge support system and I'm beyond grateful for their never ending love. I am a convert to the Church, and I am so excited to serve my mission and to teach people everything that I have learned over the past year and a half so that they may have the peace, comfort, and knowledge that I have. I am so passionate about this Gospel and everything that it stands for. I love every single thing about the Gospel and what it means to be Mormon in today's world. I am beyond proud to say I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I wear that name with pride and honor, and a passion to share our message.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a sophomore in high school, I lost my older brother in a fishing accident off the coast of Alaska. That was honestly one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with. I had no support system or faith to fall back on. My best friend, who was raised in the Church, had this peace about her that everything was going to be okay and I could tell there was something there that she knew that I didn't. After we graduated high school, she moved to Utah to go to school and I stayed in Montana. Soon after school started, I broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years, and started trying to figure out what made me happy. Just before Thanksgiving break I called my friend to ask if I could come to church with her while she was home. I wasn't able to go because of work, but a few weeks later I called and told her no matter what, I was going to church with her when she got home. Christmas day 2011 was the first day I went to church, I started taking the lessons the 2nd week of January and was baptized on St. Patrick's day of 2012. It has been a crazy journey, and I've learned so much about myself in the process. Some days it feels like it isn't worth it, but it always is. I know that this Church is true. I know that President Monson is a prophet called of the Lord. I know the book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and that it was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that missionary work is one of the most important things we can do while on the earth. I have no doubt of the truthfulness of these things, and I believe them with every fiber of my being.

How I live my faith

As a convert, I live my faith in many ways. I'm a Sunday school teacher for the Young Single Adults program in my town. I love that and I know that it is helping me to prepare for my mission. I am also preparing to serve a full time mission in the Dominican Republic. I cannot wait to devote myself for 18 months to serve the Lord and the Dominican people, and I know that it will help me grow in so many ways.
