Hi I'm Steve

I have practiced dentistry in West Virginia for 35 years. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, my name is Steve. I am a husband to a wonderful woman, a father of six, and a grandfather of 24 very special children. I just retired as a dentist after 35 years. My hobbies are watching WVU ballgames, playing games with family, and fishing.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had many people in my life to look up to. I am actually a 5th generation Mormon because my ancestors accepted the missionary message about 1878. My testimony of the gospel has come slowly over the years. When I was baptized at age 9, I had a special feeling that made me feel good all over. That feeling stayed with me for two or three days. At the time I did not recognize it as the Holy Ghost, but after having the same feeling come to me many times over the years, I have come to know that this is truly the work of the Lord. I have learned line upon line and precept upon precept that each principle of the gospel is true. For example, paying tithing is an honor, not only because it is a commandment, but because it is a way to help the Savior's work go forth throughout the whole world. The Lord wants us all to be happy, and the commandments are there to help us find true happiness. The teaching that family is the focal point of life, and a way for families to be united forever, makes much sense to me. I know that Christ has re-established His Church again on earth and that He speaks to living prophets to guide the Church and to be His spokesman for all the world. I find much peace in knowing that God cares about me as a person.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Church all my life which has given me many opportunities to serve others. I like how we are able to all participate in the Church activities. With no paid minister, we all get the opportunity to grow and learn better how Christ would have us live.
