Hi I'm Patrick Taylor

I'm from Tennessee. I'm serving a mission in Tucson, AZ. I play rugby at Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am extremely into anything active and outdoors. I love playing rugby at BYU, as well as studying to go to medical school one day. I played football all through high school as well as rugby. I love camping, hiking, canoeing and pretty much everything to do with the woods and mountains. Except rock climbing, I am deathly afraid of heights as well as small, enclosed spaces, which is funny because I am a tall, big guy. I love spending time with my family, especially my young cousins. They thoroughly enjoy being able to jump on, kick, punch and bully me and just have me laughing the whole time. I love playing games with them and giving them shoulder rides for hours. My favorite hobby is golf. I may be terribly awful at it, but being able to go out and play 18 holes, with nothing but my best friends and my clubs for a day, is something I treasure.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel humbles me and allows me to repent of my mistakes and to serve others. I know that Jesus Christ established His church on the Earth, but after his and all the apostles deaths, the authority of his Church and the fullness of its gospel was taken from this Earth. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and that they commanded him to restore the gospel to the earth through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a Mormon because I want to partake in all the blessings that come through the covenants, or promises, we make at baptism and in the temple through the proper authority of the priesthood. I know that the priesthood was given to Joseph Smith through Heavenly messengers to act in God's name, and I know that because I have received the same power through the laying on of hands, I can bless many others lives. Lastly, I know that the Book of Mormon is a true record of Christ's prophets and peoples in ancient day Americas and that it truly holds the fullness of truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that no evil man could write the Book of Mormon, because it truly testifies of the divinity of Jesus Christ and His Atonement, and that no good man could write it, unless it were true. I am a Mormon because I have found truth, comfort, and joy through the words of the ancient prophets and apostles in the Book of Mormon, as well as the words of the Latter-day prophets and apostles starting with Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

Well as of now, I am a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am serving for two years in Tucson, AZ. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, and so I want to spread the joy it brings me to many other people. Everyday, I get up bright and early and study the Book of Mormon and the Bible for about three hours. After that, my companion and I leave to our teaching appointments and to proselyte. When we teach, we try to help others understand that we do not want to tear down their beliefs, but to simply expound on their understanding of Jesus Christ and how he heads the restored church in these latter days. I live my faith everyday by praying and feasting on the words of the scriptures. I know that without Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father, I could not be the teacher and follower that I am.
