Hi I'm Rick

I grew up in Denver, Colorado. I love the outdoors. The joy of my life are my wife and children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a first a husband and a dad. My wife and I have two grown children who are the joy of our lives. We are a closely knit family who looks for every opportunity to spend time together. One of our children is in France on a 2-year mission for our Church. Even though our family is apart for these two years we are untied in heart and mind and sure of the knowledge that our family will be together forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the Book of Mormon. On my knees in prayer I have asked God if the Book of Mormon is a true record of Christ's teachings, visit and ministry to the ancient inhabitants of this continent. Through a clear spiritual confirmation, with many re-readings of the Book of Mormon, my witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon is sure and it continues to grow. Additionally, I love reading from the Bible, especially the New Testament, which further confirms my testimony that Jesus Christ lives and is literally the Son of God. A simple, private step to read the Book of Mormon with an open heart and mind, to carefully reflect on what you are reading with that same open heart and mind and then to ask God for a spiritual confirmation of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, having faith that God can and will answer, will lead anyone to the same answer I have received - Christ lives and the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my Christian faith everyday and look for opportunities to put the needs of others first. One of the things I enjoy about my current church responsibilities is that I have the opportunity to meet and interface with the 547 youth ages 12-18 who live in our neighborhood. Together we learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ and what we can do today to be better Christians and better disciples of Christ. It is a privilege to serve with youth and feel of their optimism and hope. The young people of today overflow with hope and optimism in the future and of the positive impact they can have on their friends, family, community and on the world. They embody this quote: "Hope is an abiding trust that the Lord will fulfill His promises to you. It is manifest in confidence, optimism, enthusiasm, and patient perseverance. It is believing and expecting that something will occur. When you have hope, you work through trials and difficulties with the confidence and assurance that all things will work together for your good." (Preach My Gospel, p.117).
