Hi I'm Brian

I am a retired Firefighter from California and I am a Mormon.

About Me

After retiring from Cal Fire, I moved to North Carolina with my wife. I am a father to two children, a teen aged daughter and son. I love the outdoors, fishing, shooting, model trains, and working with tools.I enjoy repairing and servicing vehicles, working on electrical, wood working and metal fabrication. Project work is my passion. I also enjoy teaching First Aid to the Boy Scouts and participating in Scouting as an adult leader.

Why I am a Mormon

I have looked into several religions before joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints. I was able to feel the spirit at several of the meetings I attended, but that feeling did not last very long. I was struggling with a lot of issues associated with growing up in a society that uses alcohol, drugs and tobacco to fill a void. Many of my friends have passed away from the use of drugs, or are non functional with society due to the use of alcohol and drugs. At age 22 I decided to give up all of my addictions and turn my life over to God. I have been blessed ever since. I owe all that I have to my Savior Jesus Christ. He will bless anyone who will listen to his words and do their best to follow the gospel plan he has laid out for us. If you don't believe me, then I would ask you to pray about what I just said to see if it is true for yourself.

How I live my faith

To live as a LDS Christian, the gospel is in all aspects of my life. I have taken an oath to be honest with my fellow man. I am a Varsity Coach and an adviser to the "Teachers" quorum at church and enjoy working with the youth. I try to be a good example to my kids, friends and neighbors. Helping others through service has been an awarding experience for me. I often ask myself "what would Jesus do" in any situations that are questionable. This allows me to make decisions that would error on the side of fairness and honesty in my everyday life. I try to interact with others as if they were family, as we are all sons and daughters of God. I pray that all of us may receive the blessings that are available to us through obedience to the word of god.
