Hi I'm Matt

I'm a volunteer. I love finding the bright side in every situation. I have a sense of humor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently studying business in college and hoping to go into non-profits. I currently volunteer for Camp Kesem which is a summer camp for kids whose parents have cancer. Since cancer runs in my family, this pursuit is especially close to home. I enjoy eating gourmet burgers, longboarding through the canyons, and trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

In a world where many's opinions are swayed by the tide of popular opinion, I am grateful to be a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The values set by the church are unchanging, even as society's moral compass consistently skews south. Growing up with high morals, I have learned that what is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right. I have been able to make decisions based on the teachings of the church and the Savior which has allowed me to find more happiness and satisfaction in my own life. The Lord has promised "by their fruits, ye shall know them." To me, the LDS church is more than just feeling right, I know it is right. I have learned for myself over a long, arduous road, that this is the Savior's true church and is the best way to live a life if one has a desire to be filled with happiness, hope, and the unconditional love of our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through example. What better way to teach people about being a Mormon than exemplifying traits which the Savior himself taught. Daily, I strive to be my best self and try to find the good in all people and situations. I served a 2 year service mission to the Philippines where I labored among the poor of the earth. This experience helped me to look at my life and find more appreciation what what I have been blessed with.
