Hi I'm Tanner Skabelund

I live in Southern California. I have a scholarship to play Division One Volleyball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest sibling to two younger sisters. All of us participate in our own various sports such as basketball, volleyball, and swimming. I just graduated from high school and am headed off to college on Volleyball scholarship after my Mission starting this September to Chile.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to follow the church because I have received a personal confirmation that this gospel is true. I have read the Book of Mormon through multiple times and I have taken the challenge in Moroni 10:3-5. I have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost and it has confirmed to me the truth of all things to me. I know that anyone can know the same as me if they read and pray with real intent to know the truth.

How I live my faith

I am currently the first assistant in the Priest quorum. As a first assistant, along with the Priest quorum President, second assistant and secretary we look after and look for opportunities to invite young men ages 16-18 to attend our meetings Sunday as well as inviting them to attend youth activities during the week. We do this by organizing fun activities such as pool party's, basketball scrimmages, and other such activities. At the end of the activities we give a short lesson about the gospel and end with a prayer. By inviting youth to learn about the gospel, I am preparing for my Mission when I will get to teach and invite others to learn about the same true gospel.
