Hi I'm Vicky

I'm an ABC studying law. I served in the Taiwan Taipei mission. I love cycling and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. My parents are both from Taiwan, which meant I spent ages 5-21 spending nights and weekends studying/practicing/resume building. It's true. I love playing the violin and tennis, reading, hammocks, and Chinese. Thanks to my parents, I graduated college with a degree in biology before I left for my LDS mission to Taipei, Taiwan. I believe in intelligence and passion. When I was 12, I decided I wanted to be a medical doctor. Though I love the sciences, I realized it wasn't my passion. I need a medium to express exactly what I want to communicate. I'm still defining myself in this sense, but I settled on writing and applied to law school.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Book of Mormon is either true or it is not. I wanted to know if all the rules and commandments were real or if I was fooling myself. I know it's true. My favorite hymn is God is Love. I know my family will be together forever. God is the master painter, musician, planner, and biologist. His mediums of expression are His creations. The message I understand is ALWAYS that He loves us. He wants to communicate with us. I have only a handful of explosive life-changing experiences, but one came as I was reading the Book of Mormon. God spoke directly to me through the scriptures.

How I live my faith

The most remarkable thing I've ever done was serve as a missionary in Taiwan. When I returned to the states, I began teaching at the Missionary Training Center. I help missionaries learn Chinese, but more importantly, I want to help them love the people of Taiwan and God. I try to live so others are their best selves around me.
