Hi I'm Jeff

I am a Kansas Rugby player from northern California. I have a big, loving family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family! I am the second of five boys, and we are pretty crazy together. We have all played many sports; I have played rugby, football, soccer, tennis, baseball, golf, basketball, and some others. In my freshman year of college I played rugby at the University of Kansas and began to study aerospace engineering, but I am now serving a mission in North Carolina. Music is a big part of who I am, and I play a few instruments - my favorites are guitar and ukelele. Some of my favorite things to do are in the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, climbing, and exploring.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be baptized when I was 8 years old, and grew up a Mormon, but that is not where my faith ends. The road has been extremely difficult. But I have stuck with it because joy and peace that this Gospel brings into my life is greater in magnitude than any struggle I could endure. At this point, nothing could make me deny my conviction of the truthfulness of this Gospel, because God has spoken to me in my mind and in my heart. At times it may seem impossible to overcome the struggles of life, but I find hope in the fact that there is always a route to happiness: through our Savior, Jesus Christ, who makes it possible for my family to be together forever.

How I live my faith

Really living your faith means acting on it, and striving to live up to what it means to you. My faith gives me hope and joy, so I try to show that in my attitude towards life. I have made many mistakes, but the key is to move forward and improve yourself. I am currently trying to do that by serving a full-time mission of teaching and service.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

God reveals the Gospel of Jesus Christ through prophets, who are instructed on how people should live in order to reach their full potential. The Bible is ancient scripture written by prophets, and thus it is the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. If a step of faith is taken to follow the prophets and heed their counsel given in holy scripture such as the Bible and the Book of Mormon, changes will occur. Things will begin to work out for us, and we will see a greater light as we understand our purpose in life. Show more Show less
