Hi I'm Nancy

I grew up in Washington state. I teach 7th grade science. I am single. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Washington state with three sisters and one brother. I attended college and graduated in biology and chemistry education. I served a mission in Venezuela and speak Spanish. I teach 7th grade science in Middle School and love it. I love to read and learn everything I can. I recently taught myself to knit and find it is a great stress reliever. I play the piano and love music. I also love running. I enjoy movies and often quote them. I love spending time with my family and have many nieces and nephews.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found that true peace and joy in this life can be found in no other way than from coming to know Jesus Christ. By being a member of the Church I come to know him more everyday. I am a Mormon also because we believe that families can be forever and marriages will not end at death. I am not married but hope to be some day and that is the relationship I want, one that will last forever. I also love knowing that my family will be with me forever and death is not the end. The Church makes me a better person and gives me peace in a tumultuous world. I know that this is the Lord's Church and contains all of the knowledge needed to return and live with Him again.

How I live my faith

I teach adults the principles and doctrines of the gospel using the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants. I also help organize visiting teaching, which is were all the woman visit other woman in the church and watch out for each other. I also play the piano when necessary so the members of the church can sing.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Reading of the scriptures has brought me many blessings. Not only do I learn the principles and doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ but I also am able to gain knowledge of Jesus Christ and his teachings. Studying the scriptures is more than just reading them. When you study the scriptures you ponder what you read, use prayer to allow the Holy Ghost to teach you what you need to know, and come to love the words in them. When I study the scriptures, I find I feel the Holy Ghost more strongly in my life and my testimony and belief in Jesus Christ increases. I also find the why of the gospel not just the what or how. By studying the scriptures I understand why I am here on the earth and where I am going after this life. I now have hope for the future. Show more Show less
