Hi I'm Victoria Orozco

I love surfing and running. I want to work in the medical field. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a premed student for now. I really want to be a pathologist and a mom... we'll see how that goes:) I did an internship at a hospital during a high school and was completely amazed by the doctors there. I absolutely love nature and temples. I like to stay active through running, sports, surfing, and just playing around in general. Sometimes I'm more afraid of spiders than sharks. I love all different types of foods but mexican is my favorite hands down (gotta get that hot sauce!) I like pretty much all types of music and I love dancing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Lord made it very clear to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is indeed Christ's church restored to the Earth once again. My parents allowed me to look into different religions, so I did. However, in other churches that I went to, (lovely and full of great people as they were), always gave me the feeling that something was missing. However when I returned to the LDS church, the Holy Ghost told me that that was where I would grow closest to God through Christ, His gospel, and the Atonement. I receive this same confirmation when I pray in my house, or wherever. With a clear mind, I have felt the warmth of the Spirit in my heart testify to me of the truth of Christ's gospel in church meetings, during song, during study of the Book of Mormon and Bible, in nature, when I am in the company of other LDS church members, etc. I feel so blessed that I was able to search for myself so that I could know of the truth, and I am also grateful that I knew enough members of the LDS church that could answer so many of my questions.

How I live my faith

I live my faith mostly by just trying to be nice to people and by, as my mother says it, "doing what's right BECAUSE its right". I'm defintely not perfect at it, but I try. I go to meetings and I try to be aware of what people around me need. I was a youth counselor in a young women's camp, and held different presidency positions in the classes for young women on Sundays. I also helped on the seminary council, and I love to go to the temple

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Victoria Orozco
Heavenly Father is a perfect God. He is perfectly just and perfectly merciful. In order for all of us to be forgiven for our sins, there was a price to pay so that justice could be satisfied. Christ paid the price for our sins in order to satisfy justice, and create a way for the rest of us to be treated with mercy, and saved by grace when we strive to follow Jesus Christ our Savior. We are commanded to do our best, but we realize that it is only through repentance and faith in the Atonement of Jesus Christ that we are saved. Show more Show less
